Q: Will my insurance cover my counseling session?
A: Some insurances cover my full fee, some half or less of my fee, some require deductibles to be paid. People pay me directly at the time of service and receive a receipt with all required information.
Q: How do I find out if my insurance will cover my sessions?
A: Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask for the behavioral health benefits department. For reimbursement amounts, you can ask what they pay for a psychologist, and the procedure codes are 90791 (initial visit for which I charge 300.00), 90847 (couples or family therapy), and 90834 (individual therapy). All individual and couple follow up visits cost 240.00. If you obtain the insurance billing address that is all you will need to submit my receipts as they have all required information on them. In some instances, I will use a sliding fee scale. I reserve 1/3 of my practice for NHP/ Mass Health/ HMO Blue clients who are indigent or highly traumatized.
Q: When are you available?
A: I work full time during the weekdays (8am-8pm), including up to two evenings per week, but not on weekends.
Q: What if I need to cancel my session?
A: Clients may cancel with 48 hour notice at no charge. Otherwise, current self-pay rate applies except in extenuating circumstances (such as sickness).
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash and checks.
