Q: How much is a session?
A: 45 minute sessions are 300 for individuals and 335 for couples.
60 minute sessions are 400 for individuals and 450 for couples.
Q: Will my insurance cover my counseling session?
A: I am not currently accepting insurance payment. However, if you have a PPO plan you can check reimbursement rates. You can also submit my bill if you have a flexible spending account. I do accept and will bill Medicare as a non participating provider though they do not cover my full rate so there will be an additional cost to you. Some insurances cover my full fee, some half, or less of my fee, some require deductibles to be paid. People pay me directly at the time of service and receive a receipt with all required information.
Q: How do I find out if my insurance will cover my sessions?
A: Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and ask for the behavioral health benefits department. For reimbursement amounts, you can ask what they pay for a psychologist, and the procedure codes are 90791 for initial visit and 90837 for following visits if they are an hour. If you obtain the insurance billing address that is all you will need to submit my receipts as they have all required information on them. In some instances, I will use a sliding fee scale. I reserve 1/3 of my practice for NHP/ Mass Health/ HMO Blue clients who are indigent or highly traumatized. At this time the insurance based part of my practice is full.
Q: When are you available?
A: I work full time during the weekdays (8am-8pm), including up to two evenings per week, but not on weekends.
Q: What if I need to cancel my session?
A: Clients may cancel with 48 hour notice at no charge. Otherwise, current self-pay rate applies except in extenuating circumstances (such as sickness).
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash and checks.
